I have a friend - 22 year old female diagnosed with classic salt wasting CAH at birth - who has not been taking her medicine for 1.5 years. Without taking her medicine she is feeling 100% better than when she was taking her medicine regularly.
My question is what could happen if she continues not taking her medicine? She is obviously an adult but her parents and doctors do not know that she isn't taking her medication. As a concerned friend I am worried about the effects of not taking her medication (florinef and hydrocortisone among others). I do not know enough about her condition to know if it is detrimental to her health. Any advice or suggestions you have will be appreciated!
