Somatropin therapy and leukemia Aug. 16th, 2008 9:39am
Hi. My son is eight years old and had non salt wasting CAH. He's doing really well on cortef and cortisol as well as monthly lupron injections. We have just begun the daily injections of somatropin HGH. My 7 year old niece was just diagnosed with leukemia which has increased our own paranoia about what Warren is taking. It only states in the literature that a small group of children have experience leukemia following HGH therapy and the relationship is inconclusive. I am hesistant whether the small (any risk is too much risk) of leukemia is worth an inch and half of height in the long run. I'm the one putting that stuff into him daily and would not be able to live with myself if he became part of that 'small group' ---Any thoughts. Warren's dad.
