re: re: Field Trips, any special conditions for CAH kids?
Aug. 16th, 2008   11:21pm
I had an Emergency Kit kept at school for each of my children. On every single field trip slip I wrote "Take ER Kit" and highlighted it. Our nurse from our school also was required to go on all field trips because there are many kids with health issues. I think my kids were 5 minutes late getting back from a field trip ONCE, so that doesn't happen often. The issue is if they get sick, hurt, vomit, etc., while away on a field trip. They need to have a kit with SoluCortef injections on hand so meds can be administered immediately. With all 3 of my children, I could not go on every single field trip during their school years. By law, the school MUST care for your children. Educate them and every single teacher your child has. It will be OK. None of my kids every needed medication while at school. I was just prepared in case they ever did.
