I am definitely better with her going to kindergarten then I was when we registered her back in April. I am sure I won't sleep the night before she has to go. I don't know how she will take being away from Mom for the first time, around strangers. We went to a meet the teacher night on Friday the 15th and she was pretty shy. But the teacher is a nice lady, a bit stern, but she's got to be to be in charge of 18 kids. It's just strange knowing that my baby will be gone for a full school day and I won't know what's going on. I am sure she will have a great time once she gets used to it though.
We've given specific instructions, over and above my daughters pediatritions instructions regarding the CAH. She just said "she'd be ok" and that they would have to call in the event of a fever over 101F. We made sure that my daughters teacher knows she has SWCAH, the signs of crisis and she assured us that she would call even if her fever was low. Also that she would require to have a water bottle with her at all times, especially during gym class and recess in the heat. She gets so hot and dehydrates so fast, then can end up thowing up.
So yeah, I am ok with it. It will definitely take some getting used to for the both of us. Even for her 3 year old brother. He isn't going to know what to do without his big sister to play with. I am just trying not to think about it too much, and I'm ok.
