No, Laura, today isn't her actual birthday (it's next week), but we're having her party today because a good friend is going away to university and neither one of them wanted her to miss the party!
They did test her for an allergy to the sun AND to cold .... neither were positive. I shouldn't be surprised at the "contact dermatitis" diagnosis: I have it too! It was pretty bad when I was about 14-15, and I ended up being hospitalized with very similar symptoms. I had (and still have) reactions to soaps, lotions, etc., and my daughter does, too - we are very careful with that sort of thing always. My worst reaction came from a laundry soap that was used in the dorm where I stayed for my second year of university (they had a laundry service). With my daughter .... who knows??! It could be so many things.
Interesting idea about the lowered immunity, Mary ...... I'll have to mention that and see what the doctor says.
