Adults with classical CAH (SWCAH)
Aug. 25th, 2008   7:02pm
I stumbled onto this website yesterday (24 Aug). Prior to this, I did not know of any support groups outside of Cares, and only found Cares few years ago.

I was diagnosed with CAH at 7 days old (I'm 35 now). Things have changed a lot over the years in the treatment of CAH. One change that comes to mind immediately is Doca tablets - Periodically someone will ask me about the scars on my shoulder blades.

I was raised as a healthy child with very few limitations from my parents. My parents consistently reminding me to where my Medic Alert (I still do not like to where it!). My Doctors at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago monitored my health closely. I was rarely sick. When I turned 18 I aged out of Children's I struggled with finding a Doctor that was able to care for me. It took a job related move to Dallas to find a good Doctor.

Has anyone with Classical CAH had a problem with being over medicated? I was over medicated for about 8 - 10 years (50 mg of Cortisone and .2mg of Florinef), it took my Doctor in Dallas to figure it out.

Has anyone had any problems with loosing weight?

Sue
