re: First time growth hormone (very hard)
Sep. 7th, 2008   9:15pm
I had to give both of my daughters GH injections. Yes, it was difficult. My oldest would be "scared" every single night, clench up, say that it hurt and if it would bleed would say "mom, you made me bleed". I felt a little guilty, tried to explain that I did not want to hurt her and knew it wasn't my "fault" if she bled. But, that is just how she is. That went on for 2 years and we got her up to 5'4".
My 2nd daughter was on GH injections for one year and gave them to herself every night.
I understand the shots and literally a pain, but the consequence of not having them is not growing to your potential.
As a parent sometimes we have to make tough decisions for our kids and just grin & bear their whinning. Good luck!
