this is a hard one because i have also gone through this and my daughter is now 3 and we still are going through this.  for your first question with my daughter yes we have had to change her meds after them working for some time and that was not the last.  i do think that one sign with the sodium is less and less of a appetite or at least it happened with my daugher.  i hope they are going to redue her labs in a couple of weeks though to make sure she was just not coming down with something and thats why they were off.  i have had so many problems with doctors changing her meds and not following up right after with labs that the last 3 years she has had so many medical problems.
